This summer two of my good friends got married which of course means I got to design the invites. Wedding invite design is the juice of the juicy as far as design goes. The pulpy kind. As far as I am concerned anyway. It’s the chance for me to really dive in. At work I don’t get to let my inner girly freak flag fly that often. As it turns out frozen potatoes aren’t the most feminine product to market. Anywhoooo….
This post will be for Lindzee and Javier’s wedding. Lindzee has been one of my bestest friends in the entire world for 13 years. I felt like I understood her style. She was SO easy though. She literally said, here’s your budget, these colors are cool…if you agree. Have fun. And I did. We had these printed on a natural cream color felt stock. I designed her vintage invites to be a mini booklet with a cover and accordion fold innards. Oh mommy and she let me put a gorgeous blind emboss on the cover. The map portion was perforated so the wedding guests could tear it out and take it with them on wedding day. The entire invitation suite was contained in a hand stamped muslin bag. Quite the little gift. Lindz understands my obsession with patterns and let me plaster this thing with them. Oh…and my NEWER obsession???? CHEVRON!
I wish I was better at taking photos of printed pieces. Hopefully you get the idea. Oh, congrats on the wedding Lindz! You are the greatest. Can’t wait for the next adventure! Wink!
