Well, kind of. Not really. But close. My amazing friends Lindzee and Michelle threw me (or little Isabelle) a baby shower this past weekend. Ok so it wasn’t a wedding at all but if you didn’t know any better it would be hard to tell. The decorations were that amazing (wedding quality) and the food was that delicious and fancy (catered by Lindzee of CordonPink.com). Wink. It’s her new calling.
I am certainly far from a pink person so her nursery is done in grey, white and yellow. I’ve probably known this (at least the grey and white part) for about 3 years now. I’m a sad human. Anyway…Lindzee did all of the decorations in my nursery theme. She painted birdhouses white, sewed table runners, did AMAZING flower arrangements and even learned InDesign to design signs for every little piece. My heart goes pitter patter. She even sewed little flags with her name on it that are now hanging on her crib. I mean every little detail was completely amazing. I was totally blown away. I’m not worthy!!! Did I mention the homemade diaper cake with a champagne bottle inside
Then comes the food. Haha. My true love and passion in life. They took my favorite things in the world and made them into fun party food. Ultimate favorite food? Watermelon. Here’s the menu:
Watermelon salad with feta and mint
Chicken skewers with grilled PEACHES and homemade bbq sauce
Gourmet Mac and Cheese
Fruit skewers with whipped yogurt dip
Baked brie and apricots in a pastry shell
Homemade mini poptart lolipops
Yellow and white birdy cakepops compliments of Michelle (and she’s getting AMAZING at them)
Cupcakes from Lily Janes
Watermelon strawberry lemonade
They even got little Izze drinks…they don’t miss a beat!
We played 2 games. One where people guess how fat I am. My pregnant friend Kelsay measured her stomach and added a few inches on. She won. Oh yes, she’s having her baby Sunday. Rad.
For the other game Michelle made up a list of questions about me as a baby for my parental units. I got to play as well. Sadly, I didn’t win. The other issue was that one of the questions was what was my date of birth. Yes, I missed that.
It was such a great day with amazing friends. I feel like the luckiest most spoiled girl in the world with the most amazing group of girlfriends on the planet! My mother-in-law, sister-in-law and grandma-in-law even drove down. I will seriously never forget that day! Thanks wonderful friends. MOI!
