Animal Cookie Ice Cream

This has to be one of my favorite homemade ice creams. Back in high school we used to go to a place called Hogi Yogi where they would mix animal cookies into your yogurt. Craved for 11 years. A couple of years ago my mother-in-law got me a Cuisinart ice cream maker (scuse’ me while I wipe my drool off). One of my favorite gifts. I think my second batch of ice cream was this flavor and it is still one of my husband and my tops!

1 cup heavy cream

2 cups fat free milk (you can add a little fat (2%) if you prefer it).

1 cup granulated sugar

1 tsp vanilla

3-4 drops of red food coloring

2 cups crushed animal cookies

Pour first 5 ingredients into prepared ice cream maker and turn on. Add cookies 5 minutes prior to being done. Enjoy right away or let it freeze for a few hours for that nice texture.

**Don’t have an ice cream maker? No fears my friends. Click here to read how to do it without. Just skip all of the steps about cooking.
