M-I-C…C you real soon.

Ok, I can’t contain it any longer. Hiyo silver-tomorrow we fly out for the happiest place on earth. That’s right, with a huge tip o’ the hat to Mr. Walt himself, my whole family is meeting at Disneyland. I don’t know if I can properly convey my love and excitement for all things Disney. I even have a Mickey trivet in my kitchen. Now, no, I have never nor will ever own a denim shirt with an embroidered Donald or any of his friends crawling out of the pocket but it does not mean that I am not Disney’s biggest fan. You can’t take that away from me. I actually used to listen to a vinyl record of Disneyland, (all of the ride theme songs and memorized them). This was in high school. Sadly. I would sit in front of the “record player” and sing along to Yo Ho Ho. In fact, in high school I used to want to be an illustrator for Disney. That went by the wayside. Then in college I used to dream of working for Disney on the cruise ship until I heard that they hide you in the bottom of the ship and you don’t get to enjoy anything. I didn’t want that to taint my D-love so I never pursued it.

I grew up in Tucson so we made annual trips to the Magic Kingdom. Once, we all made it to the front gate and realized my dad had locked the keys in the car with the car still running. Turns out I wasn’t the only excited one. The last time I was at Disneyland was in 1998 when my high school dance team was competing at Nationals, which we swept, no help from me. But yay us.

I used to be so afraid of the Jungle Cruise when they shot at the hippos that I actually hid under the seats for the entire ride and covered my ears. I hope to make it to the big girl seats this round. I already have all of my food stops plotted out. They will include but are not limited to OJ popsicles, pineapple sherbet and corn dogs.

I have full confidence that I will be elbowing my 6 year old niece in the face to beat her to the rides. Oh, and we get to dine with the princesses!!!!

So, until we meet again upon my return, here’s a nice little gem of me with my friend, Chip and/or Dale. I don’t look frightened at all.

Can’t wait for all the photos…hmm…are you actually gonna pack that camera around on rides? I think as much as it would KILL me, I might just take eddy’s point and shoot…oh, but the shots I would miss!! I think I have time to decide:)

Cindy - Cris, this is why I love you. Oh, of all the things we have in common… a love for Disney is right at the top of the list. If only they hadn’t closed the Disney store at Southcenter Mall, I would have been employee of the month in my gorgeous blue cardigan and khaki pleated skirt. Oh, well. Can’t wait to hear all about the trip!
