A family outing

Yesterday Nick, Gus and I took a little stroll up Table Rock. Between my work, jewelry, photography and freelance and Nick’s crazy work schedule and music we have been having a hard time finding some good quality time to spend together. We thought that maybe if we could do one of these together it could be a fun thing to share. I don’t even hold the guitar the right direction and Nick will probably never be wire wrapping jewelry…but photography…could it be? Nick is actually incredibly creative and used to be quite a good artist. Yesterday we gave it a whirl on our hike. While driving to the trail-head I gave him a 6 minute rundown on ISO, aperture and shutter speed. By the time we got there he kind of totally got it. Blows me away. Here are some of his shots. Didn’t he do a great job?

Then I stole the camera back. I was trying to work on the AI Servo mode to practice keeping my focus on a moving subject. Yup. This shot was taken about 2 seconds before I was hit by a 110lb brown, furry bus. And about 2.2 seconds before a hole was bit in my down coat. See the snow?

Here are just a few other snapshots from the day.

Brrrr….skip spring. I am ready for summer.
